    As part of our continued growth we have a vacancy for a 3D Environment & Lighting Artist to join our team.

    In this role you will be focused on polishing the look & feel of our 3D environments, as well as lighting combat & cinematic scenes.

    You will receive direction and feedback from our 3D Environment Lead & Art Director to ensure our game worlds maintain a high level of quality and consistency.

    Your passion for environment asset design & lighting will be pivotal to delivering the quality that we strive for in our games.

    This role is an on-site role in the Studio in Winnipeg, Canada. We can offer a relocation package for the right candidate.

    Work with the Environment team to plan and deliver stunning and fantastically lit environments, using the Unity game engine.

    Construct, refine and optimize 3D Assets for the game in our Unity engine.

    Use Unity HDRP lighting tech and other tools to create high quality effects such as light projection textures, IES profiles, irradiance and reflection probe captures, animated lights and more, and help to influence the further development of internal technologies.

    Demonstrate creativity and technical ability, ensuring that the lighting is performant and in budget.
    Candidates must have previous experience as an Environment Artist with preference for experience with lighting. A strong portfolio of work which demonstrates a high level of skill in these areas is required.
    A solid understanding of techniques an Environment Artist can employ to aid the asset construction, optimization, etc...
    A solid understanding of real time game engines and lighting systems (Unity HDRP highly desirable).
    Great communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on shared projects.
    Knowledge of the range of visual techniques employed in delivering high quality Lighting in modern games.

    Keen understanding of memory and performance pitfalls in creating game environments as well as techniques and tricks you can employ to avoid them.

    Experience with 3D and image manipulation software, such as Maya, and Photoshop or other equivalents.
    Experience taking game maps through the entire content development pipeline, from concept to final lighting & effects.
    Experience with Concept Art & Illustration, the ability to turn sketches into fully lit & realized 3D scenes.
    Experience in films is beneficial if you can also demonstrate working in a real time environment.
    Knowledge of game VFX and other systems which may be impacted by choices made by Lighting Artists.
