Department Overview

  • The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD Bank's Canadian and US P&C: nontrading market risk, consolidated liquidity risk and consolidated capital position

The Market Risk Measurement and Analytics (MRMA) team within TBSM is responsible for measuring and reporting the interest rate, equity, and foreign exchange risks for TD non-trading portfolio.


The mandates include:

  • Building a bestinclass risk analytics infrastructure.
  • Producing risk measurement reporting focused on understanding current market risk exposure and risk limits.
  • Performing analysis to deepen our understanding or market risk and provide valuable insight & recommendations for management decisions.
  • Putting in place bestinclass governance processes to ensure accuracy of results.
  • Ensuring that our people have the right skills to deliver bestinclass analytics and ALM modeling.
  • Effectively communicating our results and insights to our stakeholders.
  • The
- _Treasury Manager, First Horizon Integration _will support the overall Treasury integration work effort and will work extensively with other TBSM functions, project, and technology teams. The project will occur in phases; interim and strategic and the aim is to ensure acquired positions make their way into target-state infrastructure and downstream processes.

  • While the initial focus will be on Non-Trading Market Risk (NTMR) items, the scope of the work will expand to represent scope from the board Balance Sheet Measurement and Analytics (BSMA) team, which includes the Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and Closed Balance Sheet (CBS) functions.
  • Key Responsibilities includes:
  • Act as the BSMA SMEs and point of contact internally during the integrations project.
  • Support in the delivery of Legal Day 1 and Post-Legal Day 1 NTMR items (_operational readiness_)
  • Gathering and Documenting Data & Integration Requirements (across BSMA)
  • Support in the scoping of the interim and target state solutions for BSMA, updating project plans and support in planned execution
  • Provide updates on the project and present to all levels of the organization including senior management & BAU teams
  • Support in the governance documentation and communications with 1st and 2nd line partners

Job Requirements

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary degree
  • MBA, CFA, PMP considered assets

Familiarity with:


  • Principles of asset/liability management, capital markets, and how Treasury deliver value
  • Superior understanding of capital market instruments including bond and interest rate derivatives.
  • Superior understanding of risk measurement and valuation concepts (cash flow, PV, IRR, duration, convexity, etc.).
  • TBSM processes and how they interconnect considered an asset
  • The
features and characteristics of retail banking products


Experience with:


  • Coordinating cross functional teams to deliver key initiatives
  • Managing projects, gathering & analyzing business requirements and explaining requirements to system developers
  • Mappingout/reengineering processes and workflows, including associated change management
  • Communicating with all levels of the organization, including senior management
  • Simplifying complex concepts and business results in terms understandable by audiences with varied backgrounds & seniority levels
