The opportunity


Are you a creative powerhouse with a passion for television production? We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Lead Producer who is excited about telling stories that matter to Ontarians.

_The Thread with Nam Kiwanuka _is a half hour show on broadcast and digital platforms that puts the lived experience of the individual at the center of its storytelling.

We tackle real-life issues, offering solutions through engaging interviews and compelling visual storytelling.


How you will make an impact- Lead all aspects of production, from pre-production planning to post production editing and delivery, ensuring content excellence for both broadcast and digital distribution of _The Thread with Nam Kiwanuka._

  • Develop and refine the show concept in collaboration with the creative team.
  • Generate original story ideas for execution across multiple platforms.
  • Create detailed production plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Design and implement an efficient production workflow, optimizing processes for maximum productivity.
  • Maintain a collaborative work environment, fostering harmony within the production team.
  • Work with the Host, Chase and Field Producers, providing guidance and direction to ensure successful onlocation shoots.
  • Review interview questions and scripts with the Host, Chase and Field Producers to ensure alignment with the show's vision and objectives.
  • Oversee the editing process, ensuring alignment with creative vision and delivery on schedule.
  • Curate, post, and update content to maximize traffic on social media.
  • Work with the social media optimization team to ensure metadata, texts and video on digital platforms are search engine optimized (SEO).
  • Manage the delivery schedule for episodes and promotional material on broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Coordinate with other departments/program contributors to ensure seamless execution of crossdepartment, multiplatform content.
  • Implement strategies to stay within budget constraints without compromising quality.
  • Enforce strict adherence to production timelines, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines.

What you will bring to TVO

  • Demonstrated success in show running and overseeing a team of content creators.
  • Five or more years' experience as a content creator, from pitch to production.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, decisionmaking and organizational skills.
  • Experience scripting compelling, curiositydriven stories.
  • Experience interlacing social, digital, and broadcast content for maximum content impact.
  • A clear understanding of the distinctive styles of broadcast, digital and social media platforms.
  • A track record of developing stories that draw on diverse perspectives.
