Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance (QA), Maintenance, the Quality Assurance Specialist works closely in conjunction with the Director of QA.

They are responsible for assistance within the maintenance Quality Assurance Department, on items requiring awareness of AME practices, as well as projects and items that fall under and Canadian Aviation Regulatory requirements.

The QA Specialist is also to provide relief coverage for the Director of Quality Assurance in their absence.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Monitor and propose measures to improve upon Quality and Safety within Pacific Coastal Maintenance department practices
  • Work with Director of QA on any Company Regulatory Documents that require amendments due to regulatory changes or company direction. This includes the MCM, MPM and the DIRM.
  • Submit to Transport Canada on any additional requirements for Pacific Coastal Maintenance Schedule Approvals
  • Assist and/or Lead in new projects within the Quality Assurance Department
  • Adhere to and assist with the development of new company SOP's, Memo's, TIB's and Directives.
  • Fill in as required as an independent company auditor for Pacific Coastal yearly Maintenance Audit schedule
  • Oversee aircraft import and export projects
  • Subject Matter Expert on company Maintenance Tracking Software, and provide training for new AME's on how to utilize the system.
  • Trained in Receiving Inspection Criteria and assist with approval of inhouse work orders as well as R.I. of external Class 1 components
  • Carry out Pilot EWA Training as required
  • Head Canadian Beacon Registry for Pacific Coastal Airlines and ensure all updates and new ELT's are kept current
  • Participate in SMS investigations as requested
  • Assist QA department in continually promoting the company's Safety Management System to all maintenance staff
  • Promote a safety culture throughout the department by encouraging hazard identification and incident reporting as required by the Safety Management System
  • Provide relief coverage for the Director of Quality Assurance in their absence
  • Have a thorough understanding of the roles/responsibilities of all persons within the QA office
  • Carry out the duties of an AME and assist with maintenance on aircraft when required.
  • Provide oversight a couple of days a month on maintenance being conducted on the hanger floor, and give feedback to Director of QA for areas that could require further training for our staff.

QUALIFICATIONS_:

  • Licensed AME, M1 or M2 required with preference given to those with both M1&M
  • Good understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Comfortable speaking with small and large groups and inspiring others
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Power point considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skill
  • Detailorientated
