Working for the Department/Faculty
Research and teaching intensive department in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.


Position
Carrying out experiments under the direct supervision of the principal investigator or designates. Routine maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.


Duties

  • Maintain lab equipment and supplies
  • Training of new users on equipment
  • Support lab research and conduct experiments:
  • Preparation of buffers, cell culture media, bacteria growth media, reagent stocks
  • Cell culture of mammalian cells
  • Molecular cloning
  • Protein expression and purificaion from E. coli
  • Biochemical assays
  • Preparation of mammalian cells for mass spectrometry analysis
  • Maintain a detailed lab notebook for research experiments

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of lab technology diploma in area of molecular biology
  • Stong skills in verbal communication, organization annd time management

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSc degree
  • Direct experience in protein expresssion and purification from E. coli
  • Direct experience in mammalian tissue culture techniques
