To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a Social Worker to support Orthopedics/ENT /Surgery/GIM in our Social Work department at Mount Sinai Hospital.


As a member of several inter-professional teams in the surgical program you will provide comprehensive social work service with orthopedics and ENT surgical patients.

You will work with other teams including General medicine. Additionally, you will provide a range of social work service including psychosocial assessment and counselling with individuals and families.

You will advocate on behalf of patients and families and will liaise with community agencies regarding service provision, program initiatives and health care concerns.

As a member of a dynamic social work department, you will participate in professional development, teaching and research.

  • Job Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • Experience in surgery patients in a hospital setting preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in individual and family brief counselling
  • Experience working with patients requiring palliative care
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest in education and research
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
