Role Intro:

ABCO is presently seeking a part-time
Wage Payroll / HR Administrator to join our team.

Reporting to the Controller, the Wage Payroll / HR Administrator will be responsible for providing general payroll and administration support to both the Accounting Department and Human Resources Department.


Typical Workday:


  • Prepare payroll for wage employees.
  • Edit and update shop time on a daily basis.
  • Enter absent time, paid vacation, and other earnings for wage employees.
  • Maintain wage vacation/absence spreadsheet.
  • Maintain daily attendance worksheet and distribute weekly.
  • Prepare RRSP, garnishment and union remittances for wage employees.
  • Maintain electronic and paper employee personnel files for wage employees.
  • Submit WCB NS claims for wage employees as required.
  • Reconcile G/L accounts on monthly basis.
  • Reconcile WT and WJ and provide report to accounting supervisor for monthend entry.
  • Review resumes for wage positions and participate in interviews.
  • Perform new hire orientations for wage employees.
  • Participate in annual wage employee evaluations and distribute results to Controller.
  • Follow Standard Operational Procedures.

  • Onsite.

Requirements:


  • 3 + years payroll or bookkeeping experience.
  • Certificate in Business Administration or equivalent working knowledge of payroll practices.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Outlook, MS Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in EVENT or similar accounting software.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a team player.
