    Job Summary:

    The Crowd Simulation Artist generates crowd agents and simulations for production shots. The Crowd Simulation Artist takes part in the development and implementation of crowd simulation systems and techniques.

    Responsibilities:

    ? Apply creative and technical skills to create great-looking crowds.
    ? Creates digital crowd behaviors and simulations within Atoms and/or Houdini to achieve the look, movement, and style envisioned by the Director and production.
    ? Collaborates and communicates with VFX/CG Supervisors in order to implement efficient and effective ways to integrate crowd pipeline tools and techniques.
    ? Establishes on-going communication with artists, leads, production and supervisors regarding schedules, deadlines, and shot/sequence feedback.
    ? Interact with crowd animators to ensure that they provide the required animations for the crowd agents and any additional custom animation required for the final production shot.
    ? Work with the larger production to populate shots with crowds from early layout to final rendering.
    ? Proposes creative approaches and solutions for any specific shots
    ? Any other related tasks that fit the scope of the job.

    Qualifications:

    ? Strong knowledge of Maya and/or Houdini.
    ? Good knowledge of vector math and physics is a plus.
    ? Tool building and scripting experience in MEL, Python, Hscript, VEX or equivalent is a plus.
    ? Good artistic skills and an eye for natural motion in humans and animals.
    ? Experience in rigging, character FX, layout and animation are pluses.
    ? Experience with industry standard crowd simulation software such as Atoms, Massive, Golaem, or Miarmy is a plus.
    ? Solid understanding of the entire animation production process from layout to compositing is a plus.
    ? Able to take direction and adapt to change.
    ? Linux experience preferred.
