THE OPPORTUNITY
This position works out of our Ottawa location in the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx) Division. Our rapid diagnostics solutions are helping address some of the world's greatest healthcare challenges.


As the Financial Analyst, you'll have the chance to perform various tasks required for month-end close to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records, post accurate and complete JVs within tight reporting deadline, and facilitate management review and decision making.

In addition, you will produce and comment on month-end reporting packages as required by local Senior Management vs.

various benchmarks, complete account reconciliations and provide back-up for accrual purposes as well as ensure accuracy of monthly P&L and Balance Sheet.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure that the division's liability is accurate and properly support;
  • Identify risks, assess assumptions, and propose recommendations and solutions to issues;
  • Support internal and external audit requests;
  • Prepare and present to Senior Management quarterly Balance Sheets accounts;
  • Maintain controls to assure the integrity of financial statements in compliance with GAAP;
  • Ensure adherence to Abbott accounting policies and procedures;
  • Prepare adhoc analysis: analyze and interpret data and make recommendations for commercial crossfunctional areas including Controller and General Manager;
  • Financial reviewer and key goto person to review marketing purchase commitments and ensure compliance with policies;
  • Work with third party vendors to review and track financial commitments with marketing;
  • Maintain data accuracy for various financial systems (SAP, etc.) to enable accurate financial analytics and commentaries submissions;
  • Lead special projects and analysis as required, report findings to controller.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation or currently enrolled in the CPA professional program.
  • 35 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Abbott ERP systems (SAP).
  • Strong leadership skills.
