PHSS is a non-profit organization that provides unique and flexible supports and services so that people with complex medical, behavioural, physical, and/or developmental needs can live the life they choose as part of the community.

As a leader in community inclusion of individuals with developmental, behavioural, medical, and/or complex physical needs, PHSS supports individuals to live in their own homes and participate in community with family and friends.


PHSS Medical and Complex Care in Community (formerly Participation House Support Services) is looking for caring, dynamic, and responsive support workers to add to our team.


Responsibilities:


  • Carry out personal care duties
  • Complete daily living, recreational, and all programming as required
  • Monitor health and assist in medical need provision such as medication administration
  • Participate and assist in behavioral support programming such as deescalation, redirection, and following CPI
  • Contribute as a constructive and positive team member with focus on the ongoing care of the person(s) supported
  • Carry out cleaning and duties as required to maintain a clean and safe environment within and outside the home
  • Ensure the wellbeing of the individuals by being prepared for emergency procedures
  • Carry out PHSS policy and procedures‎‏‏‎

Experience and Education Required

Current First Aid & CPR is required:


  • Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 is required:

Ability to provide clear vulnerable sector police check is required:

  • D.S.W, S.S.W, B.A., and/or related experience is preferred
  • Flexible schedule, afternoons, overnight, and weekend shifts and ability to pick up oncall shifts is preferred
  • Must be able to assist persons supported exiting during an emergency quickly and safely
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to problemsolve through high stress situations while remaining calm

Job Types:

Part-time hours: 24 per week


Salary:
$25.20 per hour
