The Facility Assistant III (FAIII) will be responsible for the overall performance, maintenance, and safety of the facility.


Your day to day activities will include:

  • Oversee the general operation of the gain and crop inputs facility.
  • Oversee that bin boards are being marked appropriately and samples are collected and graded accurately.
  • Binning and blending of all incoming grain.
  • Ensure that grain is moved through the plant in a timely manner, that grain cleaners and dryers are working to capacity, and quality standards are being met.
  • Isolate spoiling inventory to reduce contamination and loss.
  • Ensure elevator and fertilizer building has space to accommodate incoming inventory, is clean, and is prepared to receive shipments as scheduled.
  • Responsible for regular physical counts of inventory which includes monitoring grain and fertilizer levels in accordance with regulations.
  • Supervise all loading and unloading operations within the plant, manually transfer samples to scales, and accurately record data.
  • Oversee all regular repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery. Investigate breakdowns of equipment, troubleshoot, and resolve issues while continually brainstorming ideas for plant modifications and improvements.
  • Assist producers and truck drivers with unloading, as needed.
  • Ensure all Crop Inputs shipments are inspected for quality and quantity.
  • Assist with all safety audits and monthly inspections.
  • Previous experience in grain elevator and/or crop inputs operations, equipment and maintenance
  • Previous experience in grading corn, wheat, oats and beans
  • Must be able use various computer systems including Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • DZ license would be considered a definite asset
