Finance Project Lead

NFI is a leading global bus manufacturer of mass mobility solutions under the brands New Flyer (heavy-duty transit buses), MCI (motor coaches), Alexander Dennis Limited (single and double-deck buses), Plaxton (motor coaches), ARBOC (low-floor cutaway and medium-duty buses), and NFI Parts. NFI currently offers the widest range of sustainable drive systems available, including zero-emission electric (trolley, battery, and fuel cell), natural gas, electric hybrid, and clean diesel. In total, NFI supports its installed base in our buses and coaches around the world.

***- This position is responsible for supporting NFI Group Finance and Business Optimization Projects by working closely with Finance and Project leaders to ensure accurate and timely achievement of goals and project alignment.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Leverages detailed knowledge of financial reporting to assess current processes and works with Finance Leadership to create "world class" processes appropriate for the NFI business globally.
  • Develops project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Provides project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders, vendors and third parties.
  • Develops and manages a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate system/tools and monitors project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilizes industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
  • Ensures all key controls (ICFR Internal Controls) identified are designed and operating as outlined in the internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Ensures policies and processes are established and adhered to ensure goals and objectives for all regulatory and legal requirements are met including organizational quality, environmental, and health & safety programs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Post secondary education in accounting, finance and/or equivalent.
  • 4 years' proven experience in a financial reporting position.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to prioritize task within a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent change management and leadership skills.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office suite, MS Project, Unigraphics, Oracle).
  • Ability to communicate at a professional level in a group setting and with all levels of the organization.
  • Exposure and knowledge of a Group finance function considered a strong asset.
  • Up to 20% of travel is required for this position._
