Accounts Payable - Real Estate

Groupe Shapiro is an active, medium sized, real estate company located in downtown Montreal. Our holdings are located in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, and United States.

The portfolio of over 10 million square feet consists of over 50 properties; office buildings, commercial/industrial properties, retail centers, land for development, self-storage facilities and residential projects.


Due to our current growth, we are currently looking for a
part-time accounts payable associate for our busy Montreal office.

This is a position in a fast-paced environment, one in which you will report directly to the Controller, and have the opportunity to work with the accounting team.

You will interact with all divisions of the business.

Responsibilities:


  • Manage and prioritize high volume workflow, ensuring timely processing (including monitoring and resolving issues)
  • Accounts payable functions (data entry of purchase invoices and purchase orders, reconciliation of supplier accounts)
  • Research and resolve invoice issues in a timely manner. Coordinate Contract and purchase order adjustments with the Property Managers
  • Review Construction and Tenant Improvement invoices for proper documentation. Reconcile invoices to contracts and validate retention
  • Assist with the month end process
Qualifications And Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable (studying Accounting)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels including, but not limited to, senior management, vendors, consultants, etc.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and French (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in business related software: Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
  • Hopem software experience an asset
  • Real Estate or Construction experience an asset
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in fastpaced environment, multitask, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Committed to accuracy, timeliness, and quality of work
  • Team player

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 24 per week


Salary:
$15.00-$20.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Montréal, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- vendor management: 1 year (preferred)

  • Accounts payable: 1 year (preferred)
