Build an Executive Sales Control Tower in Excel

Job description
OverviewI am looking for an experienced Excel model builder to create a structured Sales Performance Control Tower in Excel.
This tool will calculate Plan vs Actual vs Gap and Required Pace to Finish by sales zone (4 zones) and roll up to Countrywide totals.
It must be built as a structured, durable Excel model using proper data architecture (Excel Tables, PowerQuery, or Data Model preferred).
It must support working-day pacing and dynamic "as-of date" controls.⸻
Metrics
The model must support the following metrics: 1. RS
2. New PC
3. New Prem
4. RY (defined as New PC ÷ RS)
All outputs must show both absolute variance (# / $) and percentage to plan.

Planning Inputs
I already have monthly plan by zone for each metric.
The model must:
- Use monthly plan as the source of truth
- Calculate MTD Plan based on working days elapsed
- Calculate YTD Plan pacing as of any selected date
- Reconcile monthly totals to annual totals
- Allow editing monthly plan values at any time (hard overwrite logic — annual totals update automatically)
- Include a simple plan change log
Actuals Input
There must be a single structured input table where I can paste:
- Date
- Zone (1,2,3,4)
- RS
- New PC
- New Prem

Working Day Logic
The model must use working-day pacing, not calendar-day pacing.
It must include:
- A working-day calendar table
- MTD Plan = Monthly Plan × (Elapsed Working Days ÷ Total Working Days)
- YTD Plan Pacing = Full completed months + prorated current month based on working days

Required Dashboard (Control Tower)
Create a dedicated Dashboard tab that:
- Defaults to current month and today's date
- Allows manual override of month and as-of date
For each zone and countrywide, show:
MTD View
- Monthly Plan
- MTD Plan (paced)
- MTD Actual
- Gap (# / $)
- Gap %
- % to Plan
- Working days remaining
- Required Daily Pace to hit month plan
- Required Weekly Pace to hit month plan
- YTD Plan (paced as-of date)
- YTD Actual
- YTD Gap (# / $)
- Gap %
- Required Monthly Pace to hit annual plan
- Required Daily Pace to hit annual plan
Executive Narrative Panel
Include a dynamic summary section that supports leadership-ready statements such as:
"As of Feb 18:
- Zone 1 is down $X MTD new Prem (Y% to plan) but up +N New PC (Y% to plan).
- Zone 2 is down $Z MTD.
- We have 8 working days remaining.
- Zone 2 needs $A per day to recover the month.
- If February is not recovered, required monthly pace for the remainder of the year increases to $B."

Recovery Logic
Recovery is handled by zone.
Each zone is responsible for closing its own gap. There is no proportional redistribution across zones.
Required pace must dynamically adjust as working days decrease.

Technical Requirements
- Use structured Excel Tables
- Prefer PowerQuery or Excel Data Model
- Avoid fragile SUMIF/VLOOKUP chains
- Minimal hard-coded formulas on dashboard sheets
- Must support adding new zones in future without breaking logic
- Clean structure and documentation required

- Final Excel workbook
- Brief documentation (1–2 pages) explaining structure and logic
- Revision
