Overview


Reporting to the
Manager, the
New Learner Guide is a member of the One Robertson team and supports student life and experience within their first 30 days.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for student engagement for all enrolled students starting in that month.- Acts as a primary point of contact for students utilizing the centralized phone system, ticketing system, and in-person.- Liaise between students and the academic support team to facilitate timely and effective communication.- Plan and execute comprehensive student orientation to familiarize new students with campus resources, policies, and procedures.- Responsible to follow workflow patterns and operating standards to accommodate student requirements and requests.- Provides support in new initiatives and administrative duties, where required, to ensure efficiency to maximize positive student experience.- Accurately and effectively communicates student feedback to internal and external departments.- Facilitates student requests for additional support such as for referring them to external agencies, Wellness Together, etc.- Performs audits to ensure student engagement stays consistent; update and follow up where necessary.- Assists with the facilitation of various Student Support initiatives such as webinars, workshops, etc.- Administering/Proctoring Accuplacer Assessments (Evening, afternoon and morning sessions)- Supports active interdepartmental cooperation with other departments such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Practicum and Career Services.- Manage Service Cloud efficiently and effectively to address student's inquiry and provide support to internal and external stakeholders.- Actively participate in team meetings.

  • Performs other duties/participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications- 2 years of direct experience in higher education student services is an asset.- Strong communication and customer service skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students and team members.- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment- Highly self-motivated and self-directed; objective-oriented with high-level attention to detail.- Knowledge and experience with course development software and Learning- Management Systems (Brightspace preferred).- Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.- Ability to work with a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.- Strong computer and digital literacy skills.- Ability to work in a diverse, inclusive environment.

  • A clear criminal records check and child abuse registry check.
