Manager, Performance Management


What is the opportunity?
This role will Support the business advisory and works cross-functionally to partner with the Macro and Spread platforms. It will Support the Financial Performance Management team with the input and analysis of the annual budget, 5 year strategic plan, and monthly forecast updates; produce monthly financial reports, presentations and analysis for senior management


Principal Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Macro and Spread business management/senior management to support the creation of the Annual budget, monthly forecast, and 5year strategic review. Provide the business with historical financial data and analysis that will be used as the baseline for creation of the financial plans. Help the business to vet potential scenarios, adding financial advisory input. [30%]
  • Produce monthly business/industry management reports, working crossfunctionally with various groups to gather, consolidate and analyze relevant data. Meet monthly with business heads / business management to review financial results, gain market insights on performance drivers, and help business to flush out forecast updates based on expected future performance. [30%]
  • Provide the monthly analysis of financial results and expense analysis, data mining, balance sheet analysis, ensuring P&L is accurate and in line with expectations; maintain internal allocations schedules. [20%]
  • Support month end efforts ensuring accuracy of financial results (Revenues / NIE) and processing of monthly journal entries [10%]
  • Partner with business and Platform Finance to analyze competitive landscape / benchmarking across US/CDN peers and comparable [10%]

Must Have

  • 24 years of relevant work experience
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance

Technical

  • Experience in wholesale business activity, namely a thorough understanding of Capital Markets businesses and transactions
  • Experience in management reporting and analysis
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Presentation skills required, with data mining skill and ability to explore new technologies to enhance the delivery of financial information
  • Experience in data analytics
  • Experience using IBM Cognos / TM1 (preferred)
  • Keen sense of numbers and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle highpressure executive level requests on a continuous basis
  • Solid experience and good understanding of bank structure, risk management concepts, financial markets and instruments
  • Experience in financial modelling including understanding of statistics, risk or other quantitative metrics
