  • Qualifications: Essential:
  • Extensive experience providing administrative and secretarial support to executive and senior level staff including scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments and making travel arrangements
  • Experience managing correspondence tracking systems and setting up and maintaining physical and electronic files
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with a variety of internal and external stakeholders using tact and diplomacy
  • Proven organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet strict and shifting priorities
  • Excellent written communication with the ability to draft, format, edit and proofread correspondence
  • Experience working with sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to exercise a high level of initiative
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures, legislation and legislative processes, and policies of the Manitoba government
  • Desired:
  • Experience supervising employees, delegating work assignments and monitoring work flow
  • Experience working in the Manitoba Legislative building environment providing administrative and secretarial support
  • Experience working with Activities and Issues Management System (AIMS) or Shared Information Management System (SIMS)
  • Duties: Providing specialized, confidential administrative support to the Minister, the Assistant will function as the office lead and scheduling coordinator. This position works under limited supervision and exercises a high degree of initiative to coordinate and respond to requests, schedule meetings and appointments while ensuring smooth operation of the Minister's office.
