PRODUCTION MANAGER

REPORTS TO:
DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE

STATUS:
PERMANENT, Full-Time position. Monday to Friday Schedule.

RATE:
$88,686 to $107,900 based on experience.

START DATE:

ASAP

PURPOSE OF POSITION/MISSION STATEMENT:

As part of the Alkan Air team, you will work alongside our Director of Maintenance in the oversight of all maintenance of our Nanaimo aircraft fleet, our Maintenance team and support the overall Nanaimo Base in its operations.

We currently operate two Beechcraft 1900D models, two King Air 300/350's and a King Air 200.

This role will be administratively focused on the short and long term maintenance of our aircraft; training of our maintenance staff; ensuring paperwork accuracy and attending leadership meetings to report on Nanaimo maintenance.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Transport Canada M1 License Mandatory.
M2 AME License considered an asset.
PT6, Honeywell TPE Engine, Dornier 228, King Air, Caravan, Otter, Beaver Airframes experience considered an asset.

Job-Specific Duties:

Oversee the daily operation of the Nanaimo Maintenance Department and work with Operations to ensure aircraft availability
Conduct weekly toolbox meetings
Communicate with Operations on any day to day mechanical issues and snags for planning
Ensure AOG concerns are brought to DOM
Coordination with DOM for large planning projects that may require aircraft to be offline for any time longer than one day
Meet timelines set for scheduled maintenance and communicate any deviations from the timelines to DOM and Operations
Liaise with required manufacturer's, AMO's, engineering firms, parts suppliers etc.
Schedule 3rd party maintenance when required
Work with QA Manager to ensure the appropriate training and accuracy is in place for the maintenance department; implement regular audits of any noncompliance areas
Work with Technical Records on any QC findings to ensure accuracy of documents
Review financial statements with DOM and Operations
Develop and manage training in the use of maintenance programs and sending staff to type courses
Participate in Alkan Air SQMS program and work with Safety Manager on any pertinent SMS reports
Management of personnel including participation in recruitment & hiring, review processes, scheduling and approval of timesheets.
