Geriatric Mental Health Services

Complex Care and Recovery Program

Position Description

Reporting to the Manager, Geriatric Mental Health Services, Administrative Supervisor is will work collaboratively with the Service Leadership to develop, implement, and maintain administrative systems and procedures, and will be responsible for providing high level operational support and lead a team of administrative staff to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the Geriatric Mental Health Services.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) monitoring workflow and utilization of the secretarial resources; the management of registration, referral and scheduling; providing technical support; supervising and delegating activities relating to coordinating meetings and events; and preparation of presentations, documents and reports, as required.

Overseeing the administrative aspects of the Geriatrics program and having a keen eye for optimization and finding efficiencies in workflows.


You will supervise the administrative tasks of on-boarding and off-boarding of staff, including recruitment, hiring and supervision of staff; ordering supplies; space planning; and preparing and managing confidential information.

The Supervisor will also prepare complex and confidential reports, design presentations and coordinate special administrative projects as requested.

The Supervisor will act as a liaison with other CAMH departments including Human Resources, Information Management, Purchasing and Finance and external organizations.

This position involves ongoing communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Success in this role calls for someone who is able to resolve administrative and technical problems, including scheduling system software, and other computer software such as Microsoft Office programs and various database platforms.
