What you will do:

  • Manage Control Point program and advance ongoing annual Control Point projects
  • Coordinate annual Control Point QA/QC Regional activities
  • Management of the Emergency Management Lesson's Learned Program
  • Lead/Coordinate integration Emergency Management activities of new assets
  • Management of the Emergency Management Lesson's Learned Program
  • Provide expertise and support for the Fire Preparedness program
  • Support/ Manage the ER Training and Exercise program
  • Point of Contact for ER Training and Exercise to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate regular GDL document review and updates
  • Interface with Regulatory bodies and external stakeholders regarding deliverables (DOJ elements)
  • Support internal and external stakeholders by providing Emergency Response Plan and ER documentation information as required with the plans team
  • Provide support to the respective Project, Plans and Management System staff, including the lead in project management of new programsed Emergency Response support services to the LP Midwest Region

Who you are:

  • A degree, diploma or certification related to occupational health and safety, project management, environment or emergency response. Other combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.
years of progressively responsible experience in roles involving emergency response within the oil and gas industry. Other combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.

  • Working knowledge and practical experience in utilizing industry best practices for responding to oil and gas facility and/or pipeline emergencies.
  • Understanding of applicable emergency response regulations and related standards within Canada and the U.S.
  • Experience with Fire Preparedness (Pre-Fire Plans, Tank Fire response) programs within the oil and gas sector.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills in executing routine duties and during times of crisis.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, interpersonal and communication skills. Briefing senior management is an expectation.
  • Proven ability to be innovative, influence change and deliver results.
