As the Marketing Specialist, Web and Digital you will be responsible for crafting a seamless online experience, providing stellar support and driving analytics for our digital journey.

From managing web pages to strategic design, your expertise will help shape our digital narrative.

You will be an integral part of the Division Marketing Services—a high-volume work environment.

As such this opportunity requires an
experienced professional with an extensive and diverse portfolio developed in a comparable professional setting.

Projects with hard deadlines require the incumbent to effectively plan and manage their time and be available and willing to work additional hours as required.

The salary range for this position is:

Recruitment range:
$70,137- $77,330
starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.


Performance range:
starting salary to max of $91,214
is available through annual performance increases.

  • Job SummaryReporting to the director, Division Marketing Services (DMS), the marketing specialist, web and digital (Specialist) is responsible for
- the design, development and ongoing maintenance of the division's website, including landing pages, microsites and web marketing initiatives ensuring error-free and engaging user experience to support the division's strategic goals, objectives and initiatives.
- directing and advising all divisional staff on the appropriate implementation of the division's web templates, strategic approaches to the use of websites such that all new website designs or redesigns are consistent with the DCS brand, as well as meeting basic accessibility guidelines as indicated by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
- leading the coordination of resources, planning, best practices, and project management aspects of all website design and development, working closely with the division's IT unit, and four programming units as well as the Dean's Office.


The specialist is critical to the ongoing strategic assessment of the division's web communications needs, trends in relevant technologies and forecasting for opportunities that will help the division and the university remain competitive with other higher education institutions.

The specialist is also responsible for creating digital content that helps enhance the division and university reputation by:

  • collaborating with the members of DMS to create web content to support the division's marketing strategy;
- supporting and training the division's program area staff (directors, program coordinators and program assistants) in web content approach, guidelines and standards;
- ensuring content is tailored for its audience;
- proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the division's reputation in line with institutional positioning, regionally, nationally and internationally as appropriate;
- having a strong understanding of a web development practices;
- tracking, analyzing and reporting on key projects and content to provide opportunities for growth, feedback and change;
- working collaboratively with the division's stakeholders on campus and off campus (where appropriate)

  • Job RequirementsExperience should include:
  • Experience building usercentered websites based on audience research, user experience best practices, and stakeholder feedback
  • Planning and maintaining website templates and features
  • Translating ideas into strong visual communication content
  • Direct experience managing multiple projects
  • Experience teaching or demonstrating web content best practices to others.

Knowledge requirements should include:

  • Modern frontend development technologies (e.g. CSS3, HTML5, Bootstrap, JavaScript, etc.) and best practices (e.g. responsive design, user experience, accessibility, search engine optimization)
