Please note this is a junior high core subjects position. Teachers do not instruct any courses in the Islamic Program. The successful candidate will teach Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts & other classes listed in the Alberta Education Programs of Study.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education.

Is aware and supports the Fort McMurray Islamic School's Education Vision document and mission statement.

A child-centered approach to instruction and teacher/student relationships.

Effective organizational skills and classroom management.

A strong knowledge of the curriculum and teaching experience in division 1 or division 2

Exhibit a strong work ethic and open to new programs and initiatives

Understand and support district big 3 initiatives- healthy and active school, high academics and environmental stewardship.

A balanced approach to literacy.

An ability to design and implement individual program plans for special needs students.

A willingness to incorporate differentiated instruction and response to intervention to provide for individual needs.

An ability and commitment to work as a member of a team in a collaborative work environment.

An ability to establish productive relationships with staff and parents.

A willingness to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.

All candidates must hold an Alberta Teaching Certificate; have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills.
