Advanced Research Methods in Pharmacology

90 hours per position_

Position Summary:
Coordinate experiments and preparation with lab manager. Be present from 9 am until students are done with the lab work (1-2 pm). Supervise and teach students in the lab. Check lab books, grade final reports, help grading student presentations. Prepare experiments as needed, e.g. seeding cells. Lab management, e.g. advise students in autoclaving, cleaning and lab maintenance. Ensure safe and efficient lab work for all course participants.

Qualifications:

A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student at the Master's or Doctoral level, at McGill University, employed to assist a course Supervisor.

Experienced with handling of cell cultures (COS cells, CHO cells, lung fibroblast cell lines). Experienced with 96-well plate assays; luminescence assays. Trained in lab safety (WHMIS), Biosafety cabinet training, hazardous waste management.
