    Description

    Job Title: Field Heavy Equipment Technician

    Location: Calgary Material Handling Location

    This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of forklift-based equipment and attachments.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate the working condition of heavy-duty equipment, diagnose issues, assemble/disassemble parts, order necessary components, and perform repairs efficiently and effectively.
    • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Utilize related instruments, hand tools, power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
    • Accurately document all machine information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders.
    • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
    • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
    • Locate parts using catalogues and order them from parts personnel.
    • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
    • Ability to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control).
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Required Experience:

    • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
    • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade is preferred.
    • Commitment to customer service and service excellence is essential.

    Physical Demands: Climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
