Description
Functional Lead Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to their team, including supporting the department manager and/or Principal with hiring, objectives, performance reviews, and development plans/training and feedback for your team members.
- Ensures a highperformance and clientoriented team which supports achieving the RAM mission, strategic plan, objectives, and core values.
- Assist to develop and report on the team's fiscal objectives, including positive teamwork, increased efficiency and profitable sales growth.
- Develop and maintain a resource loaded schedule and coordinate resources requirements to maximize billability and utilization. May assist with recruiting, training, and retaining key staff, as required.
- May assist the department manager and/or Principal with monthly financials including invoicing; Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submittal and approval of team's timesheets and invoices for all contracts in their portfolio.
- Ensures RAM's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Management System is implemented by their team, and that all applicable stakeholder requirements/ regulations are met.
- Support the development, implementation, and improvement of relevant department tools, including digital solutions and documentation (procedures, work instructions, forms, and templates) and ensure costeffective implementation on projects.
- Support Business Development and Marketing opportunities and initiatives to grow and maintain RAM's client base and revenue targets.
- Lead and participate in Proposal process for various opportunities, including methodology, expertise, time, and cost estimates.
- Host and lead meetings with client contacts as well as prepare presentations and other supporting content.
General Project Responsibilities:
- Managing the program including project initiation, planning, and resourcing assigned projects.
- Performing inspection assignments as required and reports site or shop inspections and identifying deficiencies in materials and workmanship.
- Chairing/attending project meetings as necessary and produce meeting minutes where required.
- Reviewing project requirements and ensuring plans are in place and clearly understood by the team members and other project personnel where applicable.
- Schedule and plan project work per client requirements and assign qualified resources, overseeing their timely performance and reporting.
- Conducting regular checkins with client PM or other client contacts. Communicates relevant information as required and solicits/records customer feedback.
- Reviewing and auditing project team deliverables for consistency and adequacy of services
- Serving as an escalation point for team member concerns or issues, assisting with conflict management or dispute resolution and escalating issues to client and/or RAM Management as required.
- Be responsible for implementing RAM's safety culture and objective of zero incidents across projects; and
- Other projectspecific duties as applicable and/or assigned by a Project Assignment Letter.
Required:
- Experience with energy, infrastructure or utility projects in engineering or construction.
- Overhead and underground utility experience serving BC Hydro and/ or other utilities in North America.
- Experience in leadership and client facing roles.
- Must be able to be a part of crossfunctional teams with the ability to relate well and cooperate with other members of the team, to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and client portfolios.
- High selfawareness and emotional intelligence.
- Willingness and ability to operate through times of uncertainty and rapid growth/pace of change.
- One or combination of:
- Degree in engineering from a recognized Post-Secondary Institute plus 4 years of industry experience.
- Diploma in Civil or electrical engineering technology plus 5 years of industry experience.
- Other recognized formal education plus 5 years of industry experience, and/or
- Professional designation in a relevant field.
- Interest in networking and growing business development skills. Experience participating in RFP/Proposal submissions and other opportunities.
- Interest and general understanding of resource management and invoicing as well as subcontractor management.
- Fluent in English (writing, reading, speaking).
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite and an aptitude for digital solutions and software.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license required.
Preferred:
- Overhead and underground utility experience serving BC Hydro/Fortis Electric and/ or other utilities in North America.
- Experience with projects involving Quality Management, Field Inspection/Engineering, and writing reports.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings with respect to site conditions specifically civil
