Reporting to the Home Centre Assistant Team Leader, responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Demonstrate day to day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen our Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety
  • Provide outstanding guest service in the yard and on the radio; load and unload merchandise and maintain cleanliness and order of merchandise in the yard
  • Receive and accept home center merchandise, unload trucks, keep accurate records on claims and process and complete all claims within department guidelines
  • Build positive relationships with the yard crew, desk and leadership teams
  • Keep accurate records to support procedures and inventory management including completing paperwork required for claims, damages and shortages
  • Perform customer carry out service and product assembly as assigned
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Practice and maintain safe procedures for the handling and stocking of merchandise
  • Perform other duties as assigned in all areas of the Home Centre

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Home & Building Products and Customer Service:

  • You have a grade 12 or equivalent experience; customer service experience is an asset
  • You have experience and knowledge in the building materials industry; estimating and construction experience is an asset
  • You are honest and trustworthy, are results orientated, and strive to be the best in the work that you do
  • You are well organized, capable of attaining a high level of production, with a minimum amount of supervision
  • You have a valid Class 5 driver's license, must be willing to obtain forklift certification
  • Must have a flexible work schedule
  • You are able to lift and load products extensive physical labour is required
