The Digital Media Content Coordinator works as an integral member of the Student Success Executive Office.

The incumbent will perform a range of activities in support of all Student Success departments' communication, engagement and outreach efforts to current students.

The incumbent will work closely with the Student Success team to develop digital media content based on requests and existing plans.


Digital media content may include:
social media posts, text and images, and video.

The position also includes responsibility for monitoring and contributing to Student Success' social media channels with accurate, timely and engaging content consistent with the Student Success' vision, voice, key messages.


Responsibilities:


  • Plans, develops and disseminates compelling content for the Student Success Executive Office official social media channels to promote stakeholder engagement and involvement with Student Success events and activities
  • Manages content planning and calendar; sources and creates content based on content planning and calendars for social channels; generates, edits, publishes, and shares daily content (original text, images, or video) that builds meaningful connections and share useful information with our international student community
  • Solicits, compiles, and edits content for social media postings
  • Evaluates current Student Success social media marketing initiatives, suggests refreshed delivery methods, and work to enhance resources
  • Monitors social media accounts daily, identifying potential issues, and accessing guidance from the Supervisor as needed
  • Creates, curates and coordinates content (photos, videos and text) for posting to social media, including live events and announcements
  • Contributes to ongoing development and implementation of user guidelines, tools and best practices for the effective use of digital media in support of Student Success' strategic priorities and directions
  • Tracks success of digital media activities, provide essential data for the development of reports and recommendations
  • Tracks emerging trends in social media usage to identify new opportunities to promote Student Success initiatives and services
  • Coordinates digital channels/campaigns based on the Students Affairs Communication Plan
  • Completes basic photography and videography for events and communication pieces
  • Builds brand awareness and uses digital channels to bring Conestoga's Student Success brand to the forefront in communicating with students
  • Provides ongoing monitoring and identify potential issues that may impact the Conestoga Student Success brand: ensure relevant internal stakeholders are engaged and appropriate, timely response mechanisms are used
  • Monitors engagement, insights, and performance and provides reports and subsequent datadriven recommendations
  • Help to digitally distribute marketing materials throughout the college.
  • Ensures all materials are fully accessible (AODA compliant) and comply with copyright regulations
  • Works in collaboration with the Student Success Executive Office and Web Services staff to provide support and assistance in online postings and promotion of Student Success news and service announcements

Qualifications:

  • Twoyear diploma in Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field of study
  • Three years of relevant practical experience in communications, media relations or business marketing as well as demonstrated work experience creating and publishing digital content
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience writing and editing, web, and marketing content
  • Experience creating and posting digital content: knowledge of web posting tools, or willingness to learn
  • High attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience exercising judgment, diplomacy and tact when dealing with confidential or sensitive issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate positively and effectively with a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Passion for digital media and ability to track emerging trends. Strong familiarity with digital media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
