About the Role


Responsible for supporting the management, preparation, administration, and directing the control of the budget for large and / or complex programs.

Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and in accordance with accounting principles.

Assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis. Conducts detailed financial analysis. Interprets and implements most proposal estimating, pricing and documentation requirements. Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control. Monitors program adherence to approved budget.


Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop team of Financial Analysts
  • Key Business Partner to Senior Director, Operations, ensuring accounting integrity and accuracy in accordance with US GAAP
  • Implement finance and operations KPI's that support timely impactful business decisions
  • Work cross functionally within organization to drive key business objectives
  • Ensure Continuous Improvement Plans achieve annual & quarterly productivity targets
  • Lead perimeter cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Analyze costing variances and provide transparent insights with recommended actions
  • Implement and track programs to support working capital optimization
  • Lead Net Working Capital initiatives explaining variances to forecast and implement countermeasures
  • Create cost transparency and improvement initiatives along operations value chain (e.g. labor, material, COPQ)
  • Lead operations capital planning and control process
  • Responsible to ensure sound decisions regarding operational and strategic procurement initiatives
  • Finance lead in SIOP process to ensure alignment of build plan and revenue forecasting
  • Provide monthly/quarterly/annual operational forecasting and planning
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain/Procurement/Manufacturing to ensure accuracy of standard costing and provide insights to improve the business

Desired Education and Experience

  • Requires management and leadership knowledge in job area.
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience.
o Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

o In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  • CPA, CA, CMA, CGA Certification or equivalent experience an asset
  • Experience in a large company environment with multiple subsidiaries, both Canadian and U.S. is an asset
