Job Overview
An aircraft maintenance engineer is responsible for ensuring an aircraft operates properly and safely. This job entails assessing and handling repairs, performing regular inspections, and updating aircraft as needed.

Individuals in this role must be trained and certified, as well as compliant with all applicable aviation and transportation regulations.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:


  • Perform work and inspections in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures, and industry standards.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of aircraft systems/structures.
  • Conduct certification of work, recording of discrepancies and completion of aircraft paperwork in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure assigned work is completed in an effective, efficient and safe manner and that persons under their charge use applicable personal safety devices and procedures.
  • Provide assistance, advice and onthejob training for persons under their charge.
  • Complete paperwork, check sheets and other technical records.
  • Work safely and report accidents, injuries, potential hazards or dangerous occurrences to management.
  • Maintain clean shop, hangar and aircraft work environments.
  • Lead by example providing a positive role model for others to follow.
  • Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned by supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • College diploma in Aircraft Maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational institution.
  • 13 years of experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • Exmilitary experience preferred.
  • Valid AME license (M1, M2).
  • Attention to detail and results oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervisor and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Must be flexible and organized with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and fastpaced working environment.
