Description
Working from a central emergency communications centre, this position supports the accurate and efficient communication of emergencies and non-emergencies information and situations for all of St.
Joseph's Health Care London by answering a multi-line phone system, monitoring and receiving notification of alarms, and activating the appropriate level of internal and external response and resources.
Essential Qualifications
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or recognized equivalent by the Province of Ontario
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to follow and adapt processes to emergency situations
- Strong computer skills to operate multiple software platforms, such as Excel, Perspective Dispatch Software and CCTV systems
- Comfortable using Public Address system
- Ability to document and report information to various stakeholders within the organization
- Excellent organizational skills and problemsolving skills
- Strong communication skills with a customer service focused approach to assist both internal and external customers
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work various lengths of shifts
- Maintain patient confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Completion of an Emergency Telecommunications certificate or equivalent in experience with monitoring alarms and/or dispatch

- St Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St Josephs you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid19 vaccine and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph's Health Care London policies and processes related to Covid management in the workplace.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
