The main role of the Dental Assistant is to provide assistance to the dental specialist or hygienist.


Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • Prepare the operatory for all procedures by ensuring all instruments and materials are present for the procedure
  • Maintain a smooth flow of patients to ensure that patients are treated at their scheduled time and most efficient manner for their procedure
  • Work in collaboration with the health care team
  • Perform other duties as required for the efficient operation of the department
  • Clinical chairside assisting duties including knowledge of instrumentation
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour
  • Prepare treatment room in accordance with infection control and practice protocols for each patient
  • Thorough understanding of practice health and safety requirements

Here's What You'll Need

  • Certification as a Level II Dental Assistant
  • Experience of minimum 12 years in a hospital setting, preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under mínimal direction with demonstrated initiative and ability to be self directed, as well as, team player
  • Attention to detail and efficient time management skills
  • Demonstrated resilience in a changing environment
  • Commitment to continuous learning, improvement and evidencebased practice
