Position Overview


As a Transfer Pricing Intern, you will support the execution and planning of Cross Border Tax Matters in our client's organization.

You will also contribute to a variety of client mandates, both ongoing and transactional.


You will work mainly with senior members of the Cross Border Tax Team in a variety of client mandates involving Canadian companies operating abroad and foreign companies investing into Canada.


A day in the life of a Transfer Pricing Intern:
Assist with international corporate tax compliance and research including but not limited to:

  • Preparation of corporate tax filings such as T2s and foreign reporting/disclosures.
  • Develop Excel financial models for transfer pricing purposes and to illustrate tax planning impact.
  • Assist with various research including but not limited to:
  • Comparable companies searches;
  • Industry research;
  • Technical tax and case law research; and
  • Canadian domestic tax legislation and tax treaties, and (occasionally) corresponding foreign tax legislation.
  • Assist with various adhoc analysis including but not limited to:
  • Accounting and financial analysis;
  • Withholding tax analysis; and
  • Customs and duties assessment.
  • Assist with the development of client deliverables including but not limited to:
  • Technical reports and memos;
  • Transaction flow diagrams; and
  • PowerPoint decks.
  • Develop technical presentations and contribute to team learning.
  • Assist in the development of tax planning strategies for corporation and individuals.
  • Assist with the preparation of detailed documents and communications for clients such as technical memos.
  • Development of financial models in Excel to illustrate tax planning impact.
  • Analysis of financial statements, legal ownership structures, and transaction flows.

Your Qualifications

  • Accounting degree, completed or in progress
  • On the CPA track
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of CaseWare and TaxPrep; or similar software (asset)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
