    Description

    We currently have

    the opportunity for a Regional​ Environment, Health & Safety Specialist to join our team in our Winnipeg Head Office. Reporting to the Director, Environment, Health & Safety, the Regional​ EH&S Specialist is responsible for providing support to Richardson's facility management teams within an assigned region (approximately 20 locations) to ensure compliance with ongoing environmental and occupational health & safety regulations, industry and corporate objectives.

    In addition, the EH&S Specialist actively identifies and takes steps to support the integration, delivery and ongoing management of environmental, security, and health and safety initiatives by implementing effective programs and systems which monitor and promote a safe working environment, and regulatory and corporate compliance.

    Responsibilities:

    • Interpret and advise facility management teams on EH&S obligations, priorities and needs
    • Assess, monitor, and evaluate safety policies, programs and procedures for compliance and improvement opportunities
    • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory or industry agencies on audits, inspections and disputes to ensure compliance
    • Identify training needs and facilitate EH&S training programs and content to various audiences (both small & large scale)
    • Conduct incident investigations, audits and inspections to identify and report on hazards and recommend corrective action to ensure applicable reporting requirements are met
    • Provide proactive emergency planning assistance and incident response support
    • Assist with drafting site-specific standard operating procedures and programs that align with corporate and regulatory standards
    • Where applicable, represent Richardson on various industry committees and working groups, focused on environment, health & safety programs and initiatives
    • Ensure regulatory and legislative compliance

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety is strongly recommended
    • 1-2 years' experience in an occupational, environmental, health or safety discipline
    • Strong working knowledge of applicable workplace, health and safety regulations with the ability to review and interpret legislations
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • CRSP, CRST or CSP designation, or the ability to obtain it is considered an asset
    • Ability to travel within North America
