About Us
The Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services has significant oversight and involvement in the public security and emergency services through its various divisions and operations.
The Ministry supports crime prevention and restorative justice programs, as well as programs and services to support victims of crime including those affected by domestic violence and human trafficking.

Role
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister/Managing Director, Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) you will lead the strategic oversight and provide direction to the AEMA in supporting Albertans to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergency events and natural disasters.
Setting a cohesive vision for the system, you will work with a wide range of partners to develop policies, plans, and strategies for emergency and disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
You will oversee the work of the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre (PECC) during emergency activations.Exceptional working relationships with all levels of governments, the community and industry will foster enhanced integration and coordination of efforts across all system partners.
Qualifications
Your background includes extensive related leadership experience with strengths in strategic planning, policy development and stakeholder engagement.
You have a proven record in coordinating and implementing large-scale, integrated initiatives in a complex environment, and are recognized for your ability to forge multiple partnerships across jurisdictions.
An influential leader, you bring a drive for results with superior communication, decision making and resource management skills. A background in emergency management operations, and a related degree is preferred.Salary
$6,035.80 to $7,921.30 bi-weekly. ($157,534 - $206,745 / annually)
