    Position Overview:


As a Medical Laboratory Assistant with Calian, you will be working in the laboratory at the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre in Ottawa.

In this role you will enjoy the benefits of working with an established team of professionals, whose goal is to support the health and wellbeing of the Canadian Armed Forces military service members.

This is a casual position, eligible for up to 37.5 hrs per week. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm. No evenings or weekends


Responsibilities:


  • In a typical day you may collect specimens from your patient including performing venipuncture, interact with patients, perform laboratory tests, accurately enter patient and specimen data into the Laboratory Information System, prepare specimens for processing and shipping, and other related administrative duties

Qualifications:


  • Must have a diploma from a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program
  • Must have a certificate as an Medical Laboratory Assistant from the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience performing phlebotomy
  • BLS Provider with CPR/AED Level C
