East Coast International is currently seeking a driven, self-motivated Assistant Service Manager at our Dartmouth, NS location.

The Assistant Service Manager will be responsible for helping manage all aspects of a fast-paced service department on a day-to-day basis and engaging with the service manager, foreman, service writers and shop technicians.

The ability to deliver the highest level of customer service interactions, develop and maintain reports, and ensure standards are adhered to, is paramount.


Responsibilities:


  • Managing the service team members to ensure the teams objectives are met daily.
  • Assisting in managing the service workflow.
  • Delegating and directing service tasks.
  • Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers
  • Assisting in coordinating the staffing schedule for the dept
  • Preparing and reporting of time and attendance information
  • Adhering to Cummins, Navistar, and other Manufacture warranty procedures and becoming knowledgeable in all aspects so repair work orders are opened and updated correctly in accordance with company policy
  • Preparing work order estimates
  • Assisting in closing work orders to meet daily/weekly goals.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with customers, employees, and branch personnel in all depts
  • Meeting service department financial goals on a daily /weekly/monthly basis. Communicating service metrics utilizing daily productivity/ efficiency reports. Monitoring results and implementing changes if required

Qualifications:


  • MS Excel, Office, Power point, Windows, Word
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high degree to attention to detail
  • Team player with great awareness, time management and delegation skills
  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience with demonstrable skills and success in coaching, leading, and developing others.
  • 5+ years of experience in the trucking/transportation industry or relative environments such as automotive or heavy equipment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and performance targets
  • Must be selfmotivated, driven, passionate, enthusiastic, and capable of critical thinking and problem solving within a fastpaced environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, employees, and branch personnel in all depts
