Join our team as a Staff Education Coordinator
As the Staff Education Coordinator at Roberta Place Long Term Care, you will work under the direction of the Director of Resident Care, and will provide leadership for coordinating and meeting the learning and educational needs of the staff at the home.
The Staff Education/RAI Coordinator will also provide infection and prevention control direction in the implementation of program initiatives and deliverables; developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating infection control programs as well as building capacity internally and externally to detect and manage infection prevention and control (IPAC) issues while serving the needs of resident, families and colleagues.
The role will also ensure delivery of the infection prevention and control education and auditing and will utilize relevant legislation and best practices.
The following traits and qualifications are required:
Must have a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Education or related field and/or experience in adult education is desirable
2 years experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) preferred
Knowledge and experience with RAI/MDS is preferable
Experience with Software platforms such as PCC, Surge etc is an asset
Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
Must be computer literate
Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ensures the accurate completion of the resident's records reflecting the resident health status and care provided complying with legislative and Home requirements
Participates in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers and nursing personnel
