THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the General Manager, Golf & Operations, the Golf Course Supervisor supervises the day-to-day work activities of maintenance, labour and grounds, including scheduling, assignment of daily tasks, and supervising and training new employees.
They develop maintenance programs for the golf course, maintains greens, tee box areas, turf on fairways, and bunkers.They also determine the proper rate of pesticides, fertilizers and fungicides, operates the irrigation system and assists in the preparation of the maintenance budget.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**College diploma or certificate in Golf Course Maintenance, Agronomy, Horticulture or a related field
AND some years experience in golf course maintenance or related field
OR
High school diploma and several years experience in golf course maintenance or related field
OR
A demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. This includes but is not limited to demonstrated military education, training or experience
AND
Valid Provincial Pesticide Applicator License
A valid driver's license (BC)
Experience
In golf course maintenance
In operating tools and equipment required for golf course maintenance
In basic maintenance of golf course equipment
In personnel administration

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential, Bilingual an asset
