Description
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance member monitors and maintains the hotel's facilities and equipment to preserve image and ensure maximum life of facilities, equipment and optimize safety and comfort of guests in accordance with company and brand standard


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs minor and major repair of the hotel and equipment

Must be able to do minor drywall, wallpaper, painting, plumbing, electrical repairs and heat pump fan motor change & filter replacements

Performs daily maintenance procedures for pool & keeps track of it in the log
book


Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.

Comfortable performing daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment, maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures

May repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security

Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required

Assists with the renovation/remodeling of the hotel; repairs plaster and drywall; paint building structures

Willing to work extended and flexible hours; flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment

Performs inside/outside custodial duties as required

Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed

Removes trash in accordance with established procedures


Must be able to perform essential grounds/landscape, cutting grass, weeding, watering planters in summer, snow removal/salting of hotel sidewalks, entrance/exits etc during winter using shovels & snow blower independently.

Change & replace light bulbs

Any other duties as assigned

High School Diploma required (post-secondary education in related field preferred)

Maintenance experience preferred

Must have or be willing to complete WHIMIS and other Training as required

Ability to deal with a dynamic and constantly-changing environment

Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools

Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form

Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work independently.

Must have excellent time management and organizational skills

Must be a team player - practicing values of Respect, Trust, Understanding, Honesty and patience.

Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships

Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, dust and noise. Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions

Shifts vary depending on operational requirements to include days, evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays
