    Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Chef to have a keen knowledge of menu items
  • Assist with training staff on proper preparation and execution of menu items
  • Provide training, coaching and mentorship for all staff in the back of house
  • Maintain the food standards as determined by the Executive Chef
  • To participate in reaching the annual food cost goal, through following menu specifications and controls
  • Create unique and exciting menu offerings in conjunction with the Executive Chef
  • Complete any other duties that may be assigned in the course of duty
  • Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of successful culinary experience, with a preference for 3 years in a similar or compare environment
  • Previous experience in operating in a quick service setting
  • Interest and knowledge of global cuisine and flavours
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be hands on with training of new employees and be able to facilitate one on one training to fully ensure that each employee is as properly prepared as possible
  • Ability to fluently communicate in verbal and written English
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office (exchange, word, excel)
  • Open availability for scheduling
  • Interprovincial Red Seal certificate or equivalent an asset

    This is a permanent year-round, full time salary position reporting to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.

    The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as a Respect in the Workplace certification prior to commencing employment.
