2‐Full Time‐ Network Specialist

Information Technology
Reporting to the Manager Network Operations, the Network Specialist role is to ensure the infrastructure and

corporate computer systems are deployed and maintained effectively and efficiently. This includes all devices within

the network infrastructure. The Network Specialist participates and leads in maintaining all switches, routers, wiring

plants and servers including all connectivity to remote, regional, government, and Internet connections. The Network

Specialist will plan and implement all installs, upgrades, patches to servers, switches, and operating systems in order

to minimize downtime to the systems that serve the organization. In addition, the Network Specialist provides tier‐3

support to other IT staff and customers.


EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
*College Diploma or University degree in the field of computer science and 4 years related work experience.

*Additional industry certifications (such as PMP, Cisco, and/or VMware) are considered an asset.

*Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including IP networks, switches,

routers, firewalls and wireless network connectivity.

*Strong technical knowledge and experience in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows

Server operating systems, Active Directory and eDirectory.

*Experience with VMware virtualization technologies.

*Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.

*Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.

*In‐depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

*Strong understanding of project management principles.

*Strong leadership skills.

*Excellent interpersonal and communiation skills including report writing, documentation, and proposals.

*Ability to present ideas in business‐friendly and user‐friendly language.

*Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating business cases and budgets.

*Highly self‐motivated and directed.

*Keen attention to detail. Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem‐solving abilities.

*Exceptional customer service orientation.


Salary Range:
$42.748 to 50.291
