Qualifications:

Start to finish experience in powder coating processes in a similar role an asset
Proven leadership experience in previous roles
Mechanical aptitude / abilities
Time management and organizational skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Team oriented, positive attitude and willingness to learn
Willing to develop into a strong leader with a coaching and mentoring approach
Lead and mentor staff in a supportive coaching style
Problem solving skills and strong work ethic
Able to work safely in a fastpaced environment
Think and react to changing conditions as needed
Flexible to accommodate varying shift times, if necessary
Physically fit
Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset

Responsibilities:

Support the Supervisor and lead by example
Direct the team when the supervisor is away
Maintain a steady workflow on the production floor, ensure team members are following direction
Assist in the evaluation of the team personnel skills, accountability, and cross training opportunities
Report to and collaborate with the Supervisor to coach, mentor, and handle team member issues
Foster a safe work environment and culture, while ensuring team members recognize and report near misses and any incidents
Participate and maintain positive team environment
Attend meetings when the supervisor is away
Direct toolbox meetings when supervisor is away
Responsible for ensuring parts are painted properly, according to client specifications and meeting all quality standards
Understand parts list and determine if all parts are present
Work collaboratively with production and supply chain to order parts and maintain inventory
Interpret workorders, drawings and complete all documentation accurately
Load and hang parts correctly for maximum capacity
Pretreat, mask and powder coat a variety of parts as required
Sand or correct parts as needed
Use tools and material appropriately
Ensure quality work is done in a timely and efficient manner
Follow up with supervisors to communicate status of equipment being worked on
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work related processes
Assist and support in the training of new team members
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
Follow all safety policies and maintain integrity
