Reporting to the President and CEO, the Executive Vice-President, Finance, Technology, Supply
Chain & Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the Executive Team and is responsible for the
Finance, Supply Chain and the Information Technology Groups.

The role has accountability for BC Hydro's: Finance functions including financial reporting & policy,
budgeting, forecasting, treasury, pension plan, business planning, enterprise risk management and
internal audit; Supply chain function including company-wide procurement, materials management and
fleet, and Information Technology function with responsibility for providing information and technology
including cybersecurity services for BC Hydro.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:


  • As a member of the Executive Team, provides leadership, vision and strategic direction to a
broad range of initiatives and issues across BC Hydro.

  • Manages the overall portfolio to effectively implement strategic and business plans, monitor and
report results, and achieve financial and operational objectives within a complex organization.

  • Identifies, develops, implements and manages productivity improvement opportunities with an
eye toward gaining efficiencies, standardization and scalability on a provincial scale.

  • Collaborates across functional areas and engage employees and managers to develop
innovative solutions and best practices that position BC Hydro to achieve its corporate vision,
priorities and objectives.

  • Drives alignment across BC Hydro with the implementation of unified and effective processes
across all functional areas, in particular, where BC Hydro is making significant investments in
technology and business capabilities.

  • Holds accountability for the leadership, management and performance of the departments
reporting within this portfolio.

  • Proactively identifies financial opportunities and risks to everyday business decisions.
  • Leads, inspires and manages an engaged workforce, appropriately champion a corporate culture
that promotes commitment to safety and sustainability, operational excellence, teamwork,
inclusion and people development across all levels of the organization.

  • Drives engagement and communication across the organization and through all levels of
unionized and non-unionized environments.

  • Reports to the Executive Team and Board of Directors on results against plan. In particular,
ensures that the Audit & Finance Committee Chair is appraised of all current issues.

  • Manages shareholder relationships (BC Provincial Government) in Ministry of Finance and
Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources and respond to specific requests as needed.

  • Accountable for reporting to Audit & Finance Committee of the Board of Directors and keeping
AFC Chair appraised of current issues.


Qualifications:

***- Recognized professional accounting designation is required.

  • A university degree in a related discipline such as finance, business administration, economics,
and/or equivalent. Advanced degree an asset.- At least 15 years of senior financial management and executive leadership experience.

  • Extensive leadership experience of successfully leading and directing multidisciplinary project
teams with large capital/ operating budgets involving multiple stakeholders, ideally within a
- regulated environment.
  • Strategic business executive with a strong safety focus, including a complete understanding of
modern safety programs.- Superior background that possesses both the breadth and depth required to communicate and

engage all levels of the organization, from field staff and frontline crews to the Executive

  • Leadership team.
  • Sound knowledge of environmental, socialeconomic and public interest issues and their impact
on area of expertise.- A strong leader with proven track record of leading and motivating teams in diverse functional

areas, mentoring and developing others and effective at leading complex enterprises/business
- units through transition and change.
  • Proven and demonstrated ability to develop long term strategic plans that meet identified
business requirements.- Superior communication, facilitation, collaboration
