New Graduate Scientist - Waterloo, Canada - GHD

Our Waterloo office is looking to fill an entry-level New Graduate Scientist position in our growing North American Contamination Assessment and Remediation Operations.
The North America Risk Assessment Team works with land developers, municipal, provincial and federal governments, contractors, government agencies, private industries, and other consultants on small to large scale projects across the whole spectrum of infrastructure, institutional, and industrial facility projects.
The primary focus of the team is focus efforts on environmental impact that pose an actual risk to human health and/or the environment so that risk management decisions can be made to focus remedial expenditures where they are truly required.
Mandatory qualifications and skills:
- An undergraduate degree (B.Sc/B.A.Sc. or similar) in Toxicology, Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry or a related environmental field
- Potential to claim Qualified Person, Risk Assessment (QPRA) qualification under Ontario Regulation 153/04 in the future
- No experience, to 3 years of work experience, in environmental consulting
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent project management skills, including significant organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks within tight timelines
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, although guidance and mentorship will be provided by multiple Team members to ensure technical expertise is gained and career growth is achieved
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (including use of formulas)
Optional beneficial qualifications and skills:
- A Master's degree in Toxicology, Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry or a related environmental field
