    Summary


    Based out of Standard General's Calgary office, the Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, track inventory and material flow through construction projects and corporate activities. Reporting directly to the Controller and closely working with the Operation Teams, this individual will be responsible to investigate and resolves discrepancies, upload accurate information to all appropriate systems and users. They will also be responsible to interact with vendors and suppliers on behalf of the Company to ensure network efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities



    • Demonstrate commitment to company policies, procedures, guidelines and initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, Ethics, Goal Zero, and Core Values of Safety, Growth, Integrity, Quality and Collaboration

    • Coordinate acquisition of supplies and or services related to corporate activities

    • Oversees and assists in the purchasing of company supplies. Coordinates capital and non-capital purchases in accordance with the company purchasing policy

    • Assures proper authorization is obtained for requested purchases

    • Perform product research and pricing as needed. Assists in product / services, evaluation and cost analysis

    • Analyze tenders and select the competitive quote taking into account, delivery, cost, quality and past performance

    • Proceed invoice verification on new supply set ups (verify rates and any misc. charges) and ensure goods and services are received in JDE on a timely manner

    • Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance related to price, quality and overall service

    • Participate inventory management, perform monthly topographic reports reconciliation and investigate the root cause any discrepancies.

    • Other duties as required

    Key Requirements


    Experience/Education

    • Certificate in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing or willingness to work towards such training will be considered an asset

    • Advance level of excel skills and Power Query will be considered an asset

    • Ability of using Python improve the workflow will be considered as a huge assets

    Skills

    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

    • Exhibit exceptional work ethic, reliability and attention to detail

    • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes

    • Strong communication skills (Oral & Written)

    • Must be proficient with the use of computers and various software applications

    • Knowledge in customer relationship data systems would be an asset

    • Ability to meet all safety requirements including a valid class 5 driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing
