Wood Product Assembler to join our Assembly Department on our Afternoon Shift.
The Job
Assemblers are responsible for assembling all of our various wood products, including desks, credenzas, laterals, hutches, bookcases, filing cabinets, and storage units in accordance with our standard operating procedures and safety standards using various hand tools. They also work to ensure quality standards of products prior to and after assembly.
Pay Rate:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours of Work: 3:30 PM to 11:45 PM
Requirements:
- 12 years manufacturing or industrial experience recommended; additional manufacturing or industrial experience is considered an asset
- Is able to operate hand and power tools (drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, bar clamps, etc.) as well as measuring tapes
- Is able to understand verbal and written work instructions, which are typically routine, as accuracy and attention to detail is necessary
- Is able to work independently or as part of a team
- Is able to understand and follow established personal safety, security, and environmental practices. Is knowledgeable of, and complaint with, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Is able to lift up to 50 pounds to carry, move, manipulate, and/or position them to move, bend, twist, or maintain awkward body positions while performing work
- Has good hand and eye coordination and muscular control sufficient to operate tools or equipment and to see closely and/or listen intently in order to achieve very detailed results and/or detect flaws or errors
