The Opportunity

  • This position reports to the Manager of Forecasting & Fundamentals (F&F) in the Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines business unit. F&F is responsible for compiling research, providing information and critical analysis and developing natural gas forecasts for the business unit. As a member of the team, you will contribute in all aspects of gas market and supply analysis with respect to the Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines business.


  • What you'll do

  • Monitor and maintain intelligence related to key market factors, and emerging trends in natural gas demand sectorsResearch, analyze and model gas pipeline project developments in key geographic areas where TC Energy operates
  • Interact regularly with internal clients to communicate and disseminate forecasts and related data, which will include development and delivery of presentations and management reports
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of how gas demand, supply and market forces impact pipeline competition and asset utilization
  • Operate and improve a detailed North American gas demand model, with emphasis on Canada.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Economics or Business is preferred, other related disciplines are welcome
  • Six (6) or more years of industry related experience, prior experience as an analyst is an asset
  • An alternative combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong aptitude with standard office desktop tools, with emphasis on PowerBI skills
  • Previous experience with gas market forecasting or integrated system modeling, e.g. the GPCM gas model
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problemsolving skills
  • Good understanding of gas industry activities and trends and natural gas supplydemand dynamics
  • Detail oriented while also considering the larger, macro environment
  • Comfort with manipulating large volumes of data, while maintaining accuracy in analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message for a variety of parties
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, demonstrating a high level of collaboration, initiative and motivation
