Reporting to the Coordinator - Compensation & Benefits, the Human Resources Assistant (HRA) is responsible for providing efficient and exceptional customer service to St.
Key responsibilities include posting and closing job postings, conducting new employee sign-ons, administering employee benefits and records during hires, transfers, retirements, terminations and leaves of absences, and performing general office duties.
The HRA also provides support and assistance to other Human Resource (HR) functions for Recruitment and Retention, Employee Relations, Compensation and Benefits and StaffRight, including research, data collection and project support, as part of a team approach to customer service.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Business/commerce degree or diploma, with a specialization in Human Resources
- Experience working in a Human Resources or Payroll department required, preferably within a healthcare setting and/or within a large multiunion environment
- Experience with a complex HRIS systems
- Knowledgeable and experience with legislation and issues related to Human Resources
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing at a level appropriate to the target audience
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, coworkers and customers
- Ability to identify, understand, and meet the requirements of internal and external customers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problemsolving skills
- Proficiency with office computer equipment and software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Assets:
- Provincial or national certification in human resources preferred
- Experience with Virtuo and Crystal reports
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
