The Opportunity
As a Claims Advisor, you will work closely with the claim administration and claim advocacy teams as we aim to deliver an industry leading claims experience to our clients.
We are seeking a self-motivated, analytical, and detailed oriented individual who places high value on client service to join our Burnaby Head Office location in a Full Time Permanent position.
Our Burnaby Head Office is centrally located at the Willingdon Business Park.We're accessible by transit (Gilmore and Brentwood Skytrain stations) and if you're a cyclist, the Central Valley Greenway goes right in front of our office We have an onsite gym you can access 24/7, two cafes steps away from the office and many shops, restaurants and other amenities can be found nearby.
The ResponsibilitiesReport and monitor claims with insurers and adjusters on all claims as assigned
Update claims in the claims management system based on input and reports from carriers and adjusters
Answer in-bound claims calls from clients, carriers, and internal & external adjustors
Engage in, and initiate, proactive client engagement during the claim process
Review policy declarations and wordings for coverage conditions against newly reported claims, inquiries and escalations
Refer complex claim escalations, coverage concerns and large/complex claims inquiries to our claim advocacy specialists and work with them to resolve
Occasionally, you will have the opportunity to accompany other HUB claims staff to meet with clients, adjusters and vendors at office and loss locations
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
The Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' work experience in insurance
Obtain a Level 1 General Insurance License or willing to obtain your license
Proficiency with MS Office, with focus on Excel and Word
Strong attention to detail
Solid work ethic and a 'can-do' attitude
Proven ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication both written and orally
Asset experience that will make you stand out:
Insurance claims work experience is an asset
Familiarity with EPIC is an asset
