What is the Opportunity? You will be responsible for RBC's Object Storage implementation, client support, strategic planning and overall execution of the Global Object Storage Infrastructure technologies that enables the business to deliver their products and services in the Global marketplace. You will also be involved in the support of transformational automation programs to ensure strategic goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames and scope working with Object Storage. What will you do?

Help Royal Bank of Canada engineer, deploy, and maintain the next generation of Storage technologies to support our applications and on-premise private cloud.

Monitoring, maintenance, and operation of a production environment. Troubleshoot hardware & software issues.

Automate common tasks, deploy with an IaaS model, utilize ansible, python or similar.

On-call rotation with other team members, subject matter expertise in private cloud

Ability to write intermediate to complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms. (Common uses: Python, Perl, Django, PHP, Tableau, Ansible)

Work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide.

Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions.

Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment.

What do you need to succeed? Must-haves

4+ years of experience working in a large-scale production environment.

3+ years of AWS S3 experience or similar.

3+ years of experience with Object Storage technologies (object, NAS, backup) solutions.

Detailed knowledge of storage protocols: S3, NFS, SMB and experience with HTTP, SSL, DNS, FTP, S3 and shell scripting.

Experience with programming languages such as Python, experience with Jenkins and basic understanding of pipelines.

Experience with Automated testing with Postman, Newman CLI, Robot framework, or Selenium.

Nice to Have:

Experience with enterprise data lakes, data warehouse, and big data.

Experience using AWS application integrations services such as Simple Notification Service (SNS).

Experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift).

Experience with Django & MySQL is a plus.
